Authorities: Juvenile serial sex offender arrested in Stamford assaults

A juvenile serial sex offender was arrested in Maryland in November and again in Stamford last month, according to authorities.
The 17-year-old, who was not named, is accused of raping two women in Stamford. He was apprehended with the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Office.
Police say the first incident occurred in August in Stamford's Cove neighborhood. They say a female victim was violently assaulted as she was on her way home.
The second case happened in October on East Main Street when a woman in her 20s was allegedly pulled off a sidewalk and raped.
Police say the alleged perpetrator is being held on a $2.5 million bond.
Police and a Stamford sexual assault resource agency, The Rowan Center, are hoping more victims will come forward.
"It’s really remarkable that the victims and the survivors have come forward and have taken the steps they have to advocate for themselves to advocate for justice in this way,” said Luke Robbins, of The Rowan Center.
