Bronx pride on parade Saturday

The annual Bronx Day Parade began the wrap-up of the 10 days of Bronx Week activities Saturday and elicited a great sense of pride throughout the borough.
"The Bronx is the best place in the world," says Jamie Schoot, a 25-year Bronx resident. "I love it."
The parade featured a military march, school children, local politicians and marching bands. Despite the rainy weather, hundreds still made it outside to celebrate the Bronx.
"We got a lot of people up here," Winston Edwards says. "And a lot of activities, a lot of legacy up here. Not only the Yankees, but we got people who have done a lot for this country."
The parade normally ends Bronx Week, but officials say more activities are planned for Sunday.
