A Bronx teen who didn’t know if he’d ever get out of jail is now being given a second chance at life.

Pedro Hernandez became a poster child for bail reform after rejecting a plea deal for a murder he didn’t commit.

That charge was dismissed last year.

Hernandez, however, had other charges pending against him in a separate case.

On Tuesday, Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark offered to dismiss charges of burglary and reckless driving after a bail reform advocacy group got involved.

Clark said that if Hernandez enrolls in a college and completes a semester, the court will fully dismiss both of those remaining charges.

Hernandez said, “It feels amazing, changing bail reform, seeing kids walk out of Rikers Island every day, it's the best feeling a person could have in a lifetime.”
