WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congress passed a $9.7 billion bill today to help pay home and business owners impacted by Sandy.

The plan will put the $9.7 billion into the National Flood Insurance Program, which was due to run out of money next week.

Another vote on the remaining $51 billion in Sandy aid is expected on Jan. 15.

Earlier in the week, House Speaker John Boehner was widely criticized for canceling a vote on that measure.
