Ice playground opens at the Bronx Zoo

THE BRONX -
Children toughed out the cold weather so they could watch adults play with ice at the Bronx Zoo.

The zoo hired artists to turn blocks of ice into a playground. There will be a slide, sea turtles, sharks and more.

Some of the sculptures are dedicated to the New York Aquarium in Brooklyn, which suffered damage during Superstorm Sandy.

Anyone can see the ice sculptures through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
