THE BRONX - Residents in Morrisania say they have spent weeks trying to get the city to repair a storm drain on the verge of collapse.

The drain, which is at East 188th Street and Elm Place, is now covered in snow and marked only with a single traffic cone to alert passers-by of the danger.

Community activist Roberto Lozado says he reported the issue to the city and was told it would be six days to fix the issue. It now stands at one month without being repaired.

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) says the drain should be fixed by Thursday. Residents say that until then, the DEP should do a better job of alerting residents to the danger of the collapsing drain.
