Nameless road causing headaches for drivers
What's in a name you ask? A lot if you?re driving a nameless road in The Bronx.
The heavily used road just off Ferry Point Park runs from the Hutchinson Parkway Service Road at Schley Avenue and wraps around the Whitestone Expressway. On Google Maps and MapQuest the road comes up as the Hutchinson River Parkway, but residents say they aren?t aware of the name.
The nameless road falls under the jurisdiction of the city's Department of Parks and Recreation, which says it doesn't have the money to pave it. Councilman Jimmy Vacca says he has committed to start the process of officially naming the street.
