My broadcasting career began when someone asked if I ever thought about broadcasting as a career. I was working at a mortgage division at a bank at the time and serving with New Jersey Army National Guard in a Military Police Company.
This experience prompted me to take a class in "Introduction to Radio and Television" at a local community college because this was not the first time that someone made this suggestion. This class led to my first broadcasting job at Time Warner Cable, Channel 10 News, in Palisades Park, New Jersey. This was a great seven-year period of tremendous growth that afforded me the opportunity to learn television operations from behind and in front of the camera. I was also taking classes towards a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Environmental Studies at Montclair State University in New Jersey.
In 1998, I was offered the opportunity to join News 12 Networks as a member of the team that launched what is now News 12 Traffic and Weather. In addition I was also offered the opportunity to work as a fill-in Weather Anchor for the five stations of News 12 Networks.
From 2002 to 2004, I went without winter and saw long horn cattle nearly every day. My next opportunity was in Houston, TX. News 24 Houston was a completely new and very modern station with a staff of 110. I had to re-learn weather forecasting for a very warm and humid environment. When it rains, it pours. They do everything big in Texas!
During the spring of 2007, I returned to News 12 Networks as a freelancer, working out of the New Jersey, Hudson Valley and the Bronx / Brooklyn stations. In August of 2014, I accepted the position of Weekend Weather Anchor for News 12 Connecticut and worked there until August of 2015.
I am so very happy with my newest opportunity as Weeknight Weather Anchor for News 12 the Bronx / Brooklyn. I have worked with the Bronx / Brooklyn crew for many years and am happy to call News 12 The Bronx / Brooklyn my new home.
