THE BRONX - One person is dead and five others were injured after a cement truck crashed into a home in University Heights.

EMS officials say the call came in just before 7 p.m. at 1970 Cedar Ave. Neighbors say an elderly couple resides in the home.

Two of those injured are in serious condition. The three others, including a firefighter, suffered minor injuries. Police say the driver of the truck was killed in the accident.

The cement truck is owned by Precision Concrete Pumping Inc. Sources say there is a company representative on the way to the scene.

Neighbors and witnesses say the house appears to be unstable. Authorities say power is being shut off in the area so that crews can work to remove the truck from the structure.
