THE BRONX - Authorities say at least one person has died and seven others are injured after a livery cab crashed through the front of a store on East Fordham Road today.

The accident happened at Cee & Cee Department Store, where East Fordham Road meets East Kingsbridge Road and Bainbridge Avenue.

Officials say the victims include the driver of the cab, three passengers and two pedestrians. They were all transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where a 61-year-old woman, who was a bystander at the store, was pronounced dead.

Residents say they hope the accident will force the city to make changes to what they call a confusing and dangerous intersection.

Police say they are questioning the driver and conducting a thorough investigation into what caused the car to lose control. At this time, they say no criminality is suspected.
