THE BRONX - One person died Wednesday afternoon after a crash on Webster Avenue just south of Fordham Road.

Authorities say that a 23-year-old driver in a black Honda Civic was traveling northbound toward Fordham Road, but swerved into oncoming southbound traffic and hit a Nissan Altima. The driver of the Civic was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Barnabas Hospital.

Police say a passenger in the Civic is listed in critical condition. Three others involved in the crash are in stable condition.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
