Firefighters had the one-alarm blaze under control within a half-hour.

THE BRONX - At least one person was hurt in an early morning Bronx fire.  

Officials say the flames broke out on the first floor of 2040 Washington Ave. at around 5:30 a.m. Firefighters had the one-alarm blaze under control within a half-hour.  

The victim was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital with serious injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening. 

The city will be boarding up the place, which neighbors say is home to four people. 

The cause is under investigation.
