1 killed, another injured in shooting at Forrest Houses complex in Fairmont

A murder investigation is underway after a shooting inside a public housing complex left one man dead and another injured. (2/1/14)

THE BRONX - A murder investigation is underway after a shooting inside a public housing complex left one man dead and another injured.

The incident occurred just after 9 p.m. Friday at the Forrest Houses on East 166th Street in Fairmont.

Police arrived to find a 26-year-old man with several gunshot wounds to his torso. He was sent to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Family members say the man was named Darren.

Another man, a 27-year-old whom friends called Remo, was sent to Lincoln Medical Center suffering from several gunshot wounds to his legs and back. He is now in stable condition.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
