THE BRONX - An 11-year-old boy is in critical condition after being hit by a car while crossing the street in the Bronx.

It happened Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. on 165th Street and the Grand Concourse. 

Police say the boy crossed the street against the light when he was struck by a car. 

Police closed off the road for four hours while they investigated. 

The boy was taken to Lincoln Hospital. 

Police did not say if the driver stayed on scene.
