THE BRONX - A Bronx man is speaking out after he was brutally attacked and robbed by two men just feet from his Soundview home.

The incident happened on Feb. 24, outside a home on Croes and Watson avenues around 5 a.m.

Police say two men can be seen on surveillance video knocking 35-year-old Eddie Diaz to the ground before punching, kicking and even cutting him.

Diaz says he attempted to fight one of the men off, but was sucker punched from behind. He says he is not sure what types of weapons they had on them, but the attack was quick and calculated.

The suspects rode away on their bicycles after sealing Diaz's wallet, which police say contained $10.

Diaz was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in serious condition where he received 20 stitches on his head. He says he was just walking home from the subway and he did not know his attackers.

The suspects are described as being in their 30s, and were last seen wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
