Flames spread from a first-floor kitchen to the second and third floors, but no one was injured.

THE BRONX - Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire that tore through a halfway house early this morning.

Officials say it started in a first-floor kitchen at around 4:30 a.m. at 2090 Valentine Ave., near Tremont Avenue. The flames quickly spread to the second and third floors, but no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
