THE BRONX - Two fast food chains continue to grow in The Bronx.

According to a new study, Dunkin' Donuts added 18 stores over the last year. It's now New York City's largest national retailer, with 484 locations.

Subway sandwich shop is also a large retailer in the area. According to the Center For Urban Future, there are 454 Subways in New York City, including 49 in The Bronx.

"These statistics underscore what we have known for a long time," said a spokesperson from the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (BOECD). "The Bronx is a hotbed for retail activity because of density, access to public transportation and the local support they have received from the borough president's office as well as BOEDC."
