2 gunmen in custody after police-involved shooting in Norwood

THE BRONX - Two men are in custody after a police-involved shooting in Norwood.

According to authorities, police returned fire during a foot pursuit at around 5 a.m. near East 206th Street and Bainbridge Avenue.

Cops then converged onto the area until they found the second suspect, even going door-to-door while a police helicopter circled overhead.

EMS says the officers involved were transported to Montefiore Medical Center as a precaution, but did not suffer injuries as first reported.

It's unclear what led to the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.
