2 hurt in multi-car pileup

THE BRONX - Two people were sent to the hospital after a multi-car pileup on the Henry Hudson Parkway. 

The accident temporarily shut down the northbound side of the roadway, backing up traffic during the Monday morning rush. 

At least 12 cars were involved in the crash, which happened at around 6:30 a.m., right by exit 24 and Mosholu Parkway. Some of the vehicles crashed into the median. 

Those injured were taken to Montefiore Medical Center, but there is no word yet on their conditions. 

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
