2 hurt in Throgs Neck accident on Hollywood Avenue

Neighbors complain that speeding has been a safety

Neighbors complain that speeding has been a safety issue for years.

THE BRONX - Concern is rising over a dangerous Throgs Neck street following a serious car accident Sunday afternoon.

Two people were rushed to Jacobi Medical Center after a van collided with another car and then crashed through the front gate of a house at Hollywood and Philip avenues.

Neighbors say they've been frustrated for years with drivers speeding down Hollywood Avenue and causing several accidents at various intersections. They're hoping something is done about it before another person gets hurt.

News 12 previously reported on a group of neighbors who successfully rallied for a four-way stop sign at Hollywood and Lawton avenues nearby back in Sept. 2012.
