2 NYPD officers charged in teen assault case

THE BRONX - Two Bronx police officers have been suspended and are facing charges for allegedly assaulting a teenager.

Officials say the arrests culminate a six-month investigation after a 17-year-old boy accused NYPD officers Joseph Murphy and Jose Ocasio of beating and harassing him.

The victim says that the assault came after the officers issued him a summons for disorderly conduct in an alleyway on 181st Street in February.

Murphy and Ocasio are facing charges for assault, official misconduct and harassment. Both are suspended without pay, pending the outcome of the investigation.

The officers are expected to be arraigned this week.
