SOUTH BRONX - Two programs are teaming up to provide more training and job opportunities for people looking for a job.

The HOPE Program and Sustainable South Bronx say their partnership will allow them to help more people who are looking for a job or want to advance their careers.

Ian Whaley, of Sustainable South Bronx Training Program, says he is looking for a career more than a job.

"I want to get in the building maintenance field as a porter, in the future hopefully become superintendent," says Whaley.

For many like Whaley, the joint venture means a wider range of job opportunities.

Around 74 percent of graduates from the HOPE Program are working a year later. The organization says their new partnership will increase their services by 50 percent.
