2 people rescued from fire in Co-op City

CO-OP CITY - Firefighters tackled a fire at a high-rise apartment building and rescued two people Sunday.

The fire broke out at 100 De Kruif Place. According to the FDNY, a woman was found in a bedroom and a man was discovered unconscious in the living room area. Firefighters then brought them to safety.

The woman is said to be in stable condition and the man is in critical condition at Jacobi Hospital.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
