2 seriously injured in Claremont apartment fire

Two people were seriously injured when a fire broke out in their Claremont apartment complex.

Officials say the fire started just after 2 p.m. at an apartment on East 171st Street.

THE BRONX - Two people were seriously injured when a fire broke out in their Claremont apartment complex.

Officials say the fire started just after 2 p.m. at an apartment on East 171st Street.

The two people injured sustained serious but non-life threatening burns and smoke inhalation.

One victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and the other was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital.

News 12 is told two firefighters were taken to Jacobi Medical Center with minor injuries.
