BRONX - Around 200 people will lose their jobs when the Bronx plant of Old London Foods., Inc. moves its operations to North Carolina.

The plant will close in May after having been in the Bronx for half a century, according to the workers' union.

"It's unfortunate we're losing this amount of jobs," says Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. "What we need to do and what my office is working on is seeing how we can get another manufacturer."

The company is allowing employees to apply for positions at the North Carolina plant. However, it does not plan to relocate workers.
