20K worth of electronics stolen from P.S. 89

THE BRONX - Police are investigating after $20,000 worth of computers and other electronics was stolen from P.S. 89 last week.

This is approximately the sixth time electronic equipment has been stolen, the principal said. This time, the thieves stole 16 laptops and a projector screen primarily used in the eighth-grade classrooms.

Police suspect the burglar is affiliated with the school because there were no signs of forced entry.

The school has been trying to obtain surveillance cameras for more than a year, which should arrive soon.
