3-alarm fire destroys interior-contracting warehouse

THE BRONX - Officials are investigating a fire that razed a Bronx warehouse last night.

The fire broke out at All-City Interior Contracting on Commerce Avenue at around 9 p.m. Officials say it took 106 firefighters more than an hour to bring the fire under control. Fire crews were still on the scene today putting out hot spots.

Workers say everything inside the warehouse was destroyed and the building needs to come down.  They claim firefighters had to go two blocks to find a hydrant that wasn't buried in snow, hindering the process of putting the fire out.

The deputy fire chief, however, says hydrants weren't a problem at all and that the building had flammable gas inside.

The owner of the business says it has been in the neighborhood for 20 years.
