THE BRONX - Firefighters battled a massive three-alarm blaze Tuesday night that partially gutted a Hunts Point produce store.

FDNY officials say it started at around 7:30 p.m. at Reyes Produce Corp., a wholesale distributor of fruits and vegetables at 1280 Randall Ave. It took firefighters until after midnight to put out the flames.

An FDNY spokesperson says that the fire spread quickly because of all the produce, cardboard boxes and other packaging materials inside the warehouse.

No civilians were hurt, but seven firefighters were treated for minor non-life threatening injuries.

The company is now operating in a limited capacity out of another warehouse nearby.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
