3 arrested in connection to subway slashings on the 5 train

THE BRONX - Police have arrested three people in connection to three subway stabbings that occurred Saturday night on the 5 train.

Police say 23-year-old Carla Lamarche and 27-year-old Williris Velez was charged with assault. Paul Obregon was charged with three counts of assault, one count of menacing, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.

The three are accused in connection to slashing a 26-year-old man in the back, a 19-year-old in the face and neck, and a 27-year-old woman in the face.

The three victims were taken to Lincoln Hospital. They are expected to be OK.

There was no word on a motive for the attack.
