BELMONT - Prosecutors have indicted eight reputed members of an organized crime family, including three people from The Bronx, in connection to a multimillion-dollar gambling operation. Authorities say Bronx residents 56-year-old Frank Mastracchio, 44-year-old Dominick Totino and 29-year-old Thomas McMahon, an FDNY firefighter for Ladder 38 in Belmont, were arrested in the sting. The three men allegedly have multiple ties to the Genovese crime family. According to a 72-page indictment, the men operated a loan-sharking and sports-betting ring out of two homes in Pelham Gardens and Belmont. Investigators say the rooms were staffed with people who took bets over the phone, accumulating $2 million per year. The defendants each face 25 years in prison if convicted.
