31 arrested in alleged Bronx heroin ring

FORDHAM - After a nine-month long investigation, police say they have arrested 31 members of the La Perla Organization, including its alleged leader, Wilson Guerrero, for running a heroin ring in the Bronx.

Authorities say they confiscated 4 kilos of heroin prepared for distribution as well as guns, jewelry, vehicles and more than $1.5 million in cash.

Investigators say the organization sold the heroin in three locations at Valentine Avenue, 157th Street and 180th Street.

The district attorney said the suspects face numerous charges including enterprise corruption and drug trafficking.
