THE BRONX - Four improving Bronx schools have been removed from a statewide list of persistently low-achieving schools.

Principal John Hughes says M.S. 424 in Hunts Point was taken off the list as a result of hard work from the teachers, parents and students over the past few years. He says there are more after-school activities and parent involvement than ever before.

Other schools showing enough improvement are the New Explorers High School, P.S. 230 and the West Bronx Academy for the Future.
