THE BRONX - A 4-year-old girl is safe at home after she was found by herself along Westchester Avenue.

Latisha Brown was on her way to the supermarket when she noticed the girl trying to cross the street near Fteley Avenue. She saved her and brought her inside the store.

The girl claims she was looking for her mother after she was left home alone with her 6-month-old sister. The mother has since been taken into custody, and the children were taken from the home.

It is unclear what kind of charges the mother, who has yet to be identified, will face.
