5 hurt in 4 separate shootings in the Bronx

It was a violent Tuesday in the Bronx as police and emergency crews were called to four separate shootings that left five people injured.

THE BRONX - It was a violent Tuesday in the Bronx as police and emergency crews were called to four separate shootings that left five people injured.

Two men were hospitalized after a shooting on Eastburn Avenue at around 6:30 p.m. One victim was shot in the chest and the other was shot in the back. About an hour before that shooting, police say a 20-year-old man was shot on East 153rd Street and Melrose Avenue. The victim was able to take himself to Lincoln Hospital and he is expected to be OK.

Police say a 21-year-old man was shot in the leg at around 8 p.m. on Magenta Avenue. He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and is expected to be OK.

Earlier on Tuesday, police say a man was shot in the leg on Baychester Avenue at around 6 a.m.
