5 people recovering after fire truck collides with SUV at corner of Laconia and Waring avenues

THE BRONX - Five people are recovering today after a fire truck collided with an SUV.

The accident happened at the corner of Laconia and Waring avenues at around 8:30 a.m.

Fire officials say that four people were taken to Jacobi Medical Center, two of them in critical condition and two in serious condition.

One firefighter was taken to Albert Einstein in stable condition.

Firefighters say the truck was on its way to 4143 Murduck Ave. in Edenwald just before the accident.
