THE BRONX - The New York City Department of Education (DOE) has announced that six additional schools in the Bronx could be permanently shuttered because they are struggling academically.

The DOE had previously announced that four Bronx schools were on the chopping block, bringing the total to 10.

"I don't like it," says parent Raquel Cotto. "It depresses me because there are a lot of kids in this neighborhood and this community that need to go to school. Not every kid can go to Manhattan or Brooklyn."
