63-year-old man sucker punched in Co-op City

THE BRONX - A 63-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a head injury after being sucker punched in Co-op City. 

According to Co-op City officers, the victim was walking into the Bartow Shopping Center at 2047 Bartow Ave. Monday afternoon when he was caught off guard by a younger man. 

The suspect delivered a knockout punch, bringing the victim to the ground. 

The head of the Co-op City Department of Public Safety says they are looking at surveillance footage and working on getting a clear description of the person behind the assault.
