7 Bronx schools in jeopardy of closing

THE BRONX - Just as the academic year wraps up for summer, seven Bronx schools are in jeopardy of closing.

The schools that are in danger of closing are on a state list of the persistently lowest achieving schools. Eleven other schools on that list in the city would be kept open through an improvement process known as transformation.

Among the seven facing possible closure by fall of 2011 is the Grace Dodge Career and Technical School.
