THE BRONX - Seven people were injured when a fire ripped through a high-rise building in Morrisania this afternoon.

The one-alarm fire broke out on the fifth floor at 450 East 169th St.

Firefighters say they rescued a total of five people, including an 85-year-old woman, another woman, and several children.

The victims were taken to Saint Barnabas Hopsital. Two firefighters are also being treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
