The ASPCA says Donald Savino, 73, shot a Maltese when it went in front of his home.

THE BRONX - A 73-year-old Bronx man has been arrested for allegedly shooting a dog with a pellet gun.

According to the ASPCA, Donald Savino shot an 8-year-old Maltese when it went in front of his house on Emerson Avenue. The dog's owner was forced to put the dog to sleep.

Savino is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and criminal mischief. He's due back in court on June 12.
