74-year-old Bronx woman schemed out of $23,500

THE BRONX - Police say a Bronx woman has been swindled out of more than $23,500 by two women running an elaborate financial scheme. Authorities say the 74-year-old victim was approached on Oct. 10 along East Tremont Avenue. They say the suspects pulled off a scam in which they convinced the woman that handing over a large sum would win her an even higher amount in the future. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
