THE BRONX - Emergency crews say an 8-year-old boy was struck by a taxi at around 11 a.m. today.

They say it happened at 149th Street and Tinton Avenue as the boy was crossing the street. He was sent to Lincoln Hospital for minor injuries.

Witnesses say the taxi tried to flee after grazing the child, but was stopped by bystanders blocking its path.

The boy's father is now filing a police report.
