83-year-old Paula Algira killed in Country Club fire on Ampere Avenue

An 83-year-old woman is dead and her son injured after a fire engulfed their Country Club home. The flames broke out at around 7:30 a.m.

Officials say the victim's son, 46-year-old Michael Algira, was injured.

THE BRONX - An 83-year-old woman is dead and her son injured after a fire engulfed their Country Club home.

The flames broke out at around 7:30 a.m. on the second floor of 3205 Ampere Ave. Officials say Paula Algira and 46-year-old Michael Algira, who is mentally handicapped and lived with his mother, were both rushed to Jacobi Medical Center.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
