THE BRONX - A family is mourning the loss of their 9-year-old son after police discovered his body at the bottom of their high-rise building in Morris Heights.
According to authorities, Sidy Fofana was found on scaffolding at 20 Richman Plaza at around 5 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities say he lived in the building inside the River Park Towers complex.
Investigators aren't yet sure which floor the boy fell from, but they believe it may have been the roof of the building, which is about 30 stories up.
The boy's aunt told News 12 that he was on his way to her apartment on the 32nd floor to get money for food.
Neighbors say they don't understand how the boy could have fallen because all the windows are supposed to have guards on them and the door leading to the roof is kept locked.
The management office for River Park Towers declined to comment.
