After-school programs in jeopardy at Bronx school

THE BRONX - After-school programs could be cut at the Bronx Center for Science and Math eliminating music and art education.

Some school leaders were angered last month when the Education Department announced plans to seize 50 cents of every dollar the principals had set aside from this year's budget to offset deep budget cuts next year.

Several schools may have to shut down the programs, according to Principal Edward Tom.
