Many spring break travelers are about to have their firstencounter with the system that might see travelers scanned, swabbedor thoroughly patted down, or even all three.

The Obama administration is committing tens of millions ofdollars to deploy more state-of-the-art screening equipment, and itis tightening enforcement of some older security measures.

Security lines are expected to grow as the extra measures arerolled out and travel demand picks up. Airlines, meanwhile, worrythe government will require them to pay to maintain thecheckpoints.

Fliers say they are understanding, but some say they're stillbothered by the extra time it might take.
