THE BRONX - The Albanian community in the Bronx received a special visit from its native president Tuesday night.

Albanian President Bujar Nishani joined Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj, who spoke during a dinner about the difficulties Albanians living in the borough face because of immigration, education and language barriers.

The speech also focused on the needs of the elderly community, which Gjonaj said has lost respect locally, but is still valued for its wisdom in Albania.

Gjonaj has also pledged to donate $10,000 toward building an Albanian cultural center.
