THE BRONX - A makeshift memorial has been built for a young man who was shot in the head in Fordham Heights Thursday.

Police say Alex Rodriguez was shot in the head near the corner of East 184th Street and Tiebout Avenue Thursday. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and put on life support.

Doctors say his brain is no longer functioning.

Rodriguez's friends say he was the heart of the neighborhood. They say the tragedy has left a void in their community.
