Alexander Hamilton Bridge construction begins Sat.

THE BRONX - A major artery leading in and out of The Bronx will be under construction for the next few months.Work on the Alexander Hamilton Bridge begins Saturday evening on the eastbound side and is expected to last for approximately three months. Then, construction on the westbound side will begin, which will last for another three months.

The bridge is a major artery leading to and from the George Washington Bridge and is crossed by more than 188,000 vehicles per day.Commuters should expect heavy traffic on the bridge and should take either the Washington Bridge or mass transit, if possible.Traffic & Weather LIVE
