Annual Fleet Week kicks off in NYC

THE BRONX - The 25th Annual Fleet Week kicked off in New York City today.

Chopper 12 was overhead as thousands of military personnel from the United States Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard arrived in a parade of 21 ships on the Hudson River.

The event will include festivities throughout the tristate area to celebrate the sea services. The warships will also be open to the public for free tours.

In The Bronx, an aviation event is set for Friday afternoon at Orchard Beach and a Memorial Day parade will be held on City Island.
